|Description:||Workers Compensation Claims Representative for our Richmond, VA office with experience in claims management in Virginia required; Maryland, Pennsylvania and other state jurisdictions is a plus. This claim representative will be responsible for technical file management of workers compensation claims and account management. The position requires frequent interaction with an account’s designated contact, case managers, medical providers, injured workers, and attorneys. |
|Duties:||Assume full responsibility for all phases of file management for accounts or agencies (as assigned) and inform management of any unfavorable trends. Conduct required investigations on all assigned workers compensation claims. Handle all technical aspects of claims, including management of coverage, disability, medical, file, litigation, subrogation, reserving and settlement. Maintain and demonstrate knowledge of the Workers Compensation Act and current rules and regulations in the jurisdictions assigned. Attend mediations, client visits, and claim reviews. |
|Qualifications:||• Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in adjusting Virginia workers compensation lost time claims; additional experience will be considered • MD and PA claim handling experience a plus • Workers compensation designations a plus (ARM, AIC, CPCU) • Four-year college degree • Well-developed oral and written communication skills • Evidence of self-motivation • Well defined interpersonal skills • Course work in business law and insurance is desirable, but not required. |
